Pianist has finger bitten off by horse

An accomplished concert pianist in California has had the tip of her finger bitten off by a carriage horse.
 
Pamela Resch, 63, had the tip of her finger re-attached in surgery, but must wait to find out how it will affect her playing ability.

The San Jose woman had gone for a romantic carriage ride with her husband, Bill, through downtown Los Gatos, the Mercury News mercurynews.com reported.

Afterwards, they posed for pictures with the horses. One named Tom began nibbling on her finger after she stroked his head.

Tom then bit her finger off.

The fingertip was found and placed in a cup of ice for transport to hospital for the surgery.

The couple had taken the ride to mark their 42nd wedding anniversary
